HEARTSAVER First Aid/CPR/AED Module
The AHA has designed the Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED course to prepare those persons who may be called upon to respond to first aid emergencies in the workplace or community. This may include:
- Blood borne pathogen protection
- Bleeding, wounds, internal bleeding
- Head, neck and spine injuries
- Broken bones and sprains
- Burns and electrocution
- Breathing problems, allergic reactions, diabetes/low blood sugar
- Choking
- Seizure and stroke
- Temperature related emergencies
- Insect bites and stings, snakebites
- Poison and environmental emergencies
AND WHO MAY BE CALLED UPON TO:
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the workplace or similar settings
- Use and automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Want or need a course completion card
Individuals who typically need this type of certification include; workplace first responders in the construction and building trades, police and firefighters, health club and fitness staff and sport coaches.
